The Indian side has closed the bridge built over the Mahakali River connecting Nepal and India in Darchula.
The Indian side closed the bridge this (Monday) morning after a fracas cropped between Indian and Nepali citizens -- both sides pelting stones at each other on Sunday.
The clash ensued between the Nepali and the Indian sided in the course of protest held by Nepali citizens against the India's unilateral move to build embankment along the Mahakali River yesterday.

Nepali citizens staged a demonstration protesting the Indian side's embankment construction along the river without consulting the Nepali authority.
Inspector Rajesh Shahi of District Police Office, Darchula, said that Indian side closed the bridge over the Mahakali River since this morning in view of the incident that took place yesterday.
According to him, the Indian side has prohibited the movement of people on the bridge, which is used by citizens of both countries to travel across the border.
After people on both sides of the border were stranded due to closure of the bridge on Sunday, the police opened the bridge using minimal force in the evening.
Today again, the Indian side closed the bridge, affecting movement of people on both sides of the border.
District Administration Office, Darchula, said efforts are being made to open the bridge closed by Indian citizens.
