Woman killed, 7 injured after jeep crashes in Gulmi

A woman died and seven others sustained injuries when a jeep skidded and fell off a cliff at Satyawati in Gulmi district on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Kamala Budhathoki of Satyawati Rural Municipality-8, Barse, the District Police Office, Gulmi said.

According to DSP Shankar Pokharel of DPO, Gulmi, a jeep, Ga 3 Cha 3262, fell some 400 meters off an inner road after it went out of control in Okyang of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-4 this morning.

A total of seven people were traveling in the ill-fated jeep. Of the seven injured in the accident, the condition of four is said to be critical.

The injured in the accident include Keshav Rana, 29, Rita Chhantyal, 37, Irisha Chhantyal, 4, Ajaya Nepali, 26, Tek Bahadur Kala, 75, Durpati Baral, 46, and Mekh Baral, 23.
