An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale has struck in Dailekh district on Tuesday morning.
According to the National Seismological Center, Lainchaur, the 4.1-magtinute earthquake was recorded with its epicenter at Dullu at 10:34 am, the district headquarters of Dailekh.
The tremors were felt in the adjoining districts including Accham and Surkhet apart from Dailekh, locals reported. However, no casualties or damages have been reported so far.
Earlier on May 17, a 4-magnitude earthquake had struck with its epicenter in Rasuwa.
Nepal lies in a fault zone as the Indian plate is constantly pushing against the Eurasian (Tibetan) plate, resulting in seismic activities in the Himalayan country, said Geographer Ganesh Kumar Jimee.
Jimee further said Nepal lies between the two tectonic plates -- Indian plate and the Eurasian Plate -- and their constant push against each other is creating energy. When the energy gets accumulated and strained, it releases in the form of seismic waves.
