One killed, two injured as two groups exchange blows in Biratnagar

A person was killed and two sustained critical injuries after two groups exchanged blows in Biratnagar of Morang district on Monday night, DSP Gyanendra Basnet of District Police Office, said.

The deceased and the injured have have knife injuries.

“The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Karan Kamat of Katahari Rural Municipality-1, Jamatoki,” DSP Basnet told Nepalkhabar, “Bikram Mandal, 22, and Aman Raya, 17, of Katahari-1, were critically injured.”

Meanwhile, police have arrested three individuals on suspicion of their involvement in the incident.

“We have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident,” said Basnet, “A brawl erupted between the two groups on the road on Monday night, leaving one killed and two injured, according to a preliminary investigation.”

 However, Basnet did not disclose the names of the arrested. The incident took place around 10 pm yesterday on the road in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-2.

The two injured are undergoing treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratngar.
