Three Nepali people have died in a motorcycle accident on the Indian soil bordering Banke district.
The deceased are 51-year-old Gobardhan Gharti, 33-year-old Lalbahadur Besauti and 28-year-old Kalpana Shrestha, residents of Banuwa Naka of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-1 in Banke.
Minraj Khadka, spokesman of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality, informed that a motorcycle, Ra 4 Pa 765, occurred after it collided with a tractor at Rajpur, five kilometers east of Baghauda Lake in Shravasti district of India, which borders Narainapur in Banke.
"All the three people who sustained critical injuries in the accident breathed their last in an Indian hospital during treatment," said Khadka, "We are coordinating with the Indian police regarding compensation for the families of the deceased."
DSP Narayan Dangi, Spokesperson of District Police Office, Banke said that the Indian Police had informed the Banke Police about the accident.
"We have received information that Nepalis died in the accident. However, the details have not yet arrived, Dangi told Nepalkhabar.
Village spokesman Khadka confirmed that the accident occurred when they went to the Indian market to buy household goods.
