The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that the monsoon wind has effects across the country at present and the low pressure line of the monsoon is still in and around the average position.
Light rain is taking place in some places of Bagmati and Sudurpaschim provinces.
According to the Department, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in some places of all the provinces.
Similarly, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in a few places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in all provinces and heavy rainfall at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces in the next 24 hours. The Department has also urged the people to remain alert as there is a possibility of partial impact on agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road and air transportation including the daily life of these places.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall occurred in and around Morang, Dhankuta of Koshi province and Lamjung of Gandaki province in the last six hours.
Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga and other parts of Koshi province, Saptari and adjoining areas of Madheus province, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot of Bagmati province and Gorkha, Kaski of Gandaki province, as well as some parts of Lumbini and Karnali provinces received rainfall.
