Tanker hits two motorcyclists to death in Saptari

Two persons riding a motorcycle died after they were hit by a truck at Barmajhiya of Kanchanrup municipality along the East-West Highway on Friday.

Rider Mahesh Kumar Mehata, 41, and pillion rider Jay Prakash Mehta, 40, were hit by the truck, according to police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dhundiraj Neupane, informed that the victims were from Harinagara rural municipality-3 of Sunsari district. Mahesh died on the spot while Jay Prakash on the way to hospital.

The motorcycle (Pr 1-02047 Pa 1280) heading towards west was rammed by an oil tanker (Ko 1 Kha 7414).

Even the tanker driver Mithilesh Yadav, 32, from Karjana municipality of Siraha district, was injured in the incident. He has been receiving treatment at a local health facility, the police added.
