Two held in possession of Rs 9.2 mln from Jorpati, Kathmandu

Two individuals have been apprehended in possession of 9.2 million rupees in cash from Jorpati in Kathmandu.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office took them under control on Tuesday night.

The arrested are Jit Bahadur Tamang and Santosh Khati of Sankhuwasabha.

"Two people have been arrested with Rs 9.2 million. It's early to say much about the arrest as we are investigating them, currently," said SP Kaji Prasad Acharya.

The details regarding the source of the money and where they were transporting it to will be made public in due course, said Acharya. 

According to a highly-placed source at the Nepal Police, a raid was carried out on them based on the information that they were possessing gold.
