Two people including driver died and 39 others sustained injuries in a school bus accident that occurred in Dakshinkali Municipality-3, Pharping, Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon.
According to Superintendent of Police Apilraj Bohara, the spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, two people died after a school bus carrying about 50 students of Junkiri English School met with an accident at Pharping.
The deceased have been identified as eight-year-old Bipin Shrestha and bus driver Radha Krishna Magar, 35, the police said.
The school bus, Ba 1 Ka 5664 skidded off and fell some 150 meters down the road while it was heading to Pharping from Bhanjyang at around 3:49 pm.
SP Bohara said that the injured have been rescued and sent to various hospitals for treatment.
