The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) has awarded scholarships to 14 athletes, targeting preparations for major international sporting events, including the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the 2026 Asian Games, and the Dakar Youth Olympic Games 2026.
The scholarships were announced at a program organized by the NOC in Kathmandu on Friday.
For the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, athletes from eight different sports will receive a monthly scholarship of USD 1,125 to support their training and preparation. The Olympic scholarship recipients are Prince Dahal (badminton), Usha Khanal (cycling), Sadbhav Acharya (golf), Manita Shrestha Pradhan (judo), Evana Thapa (table tennis), Shivali Gurung (tennis), Tenzin Bertin Rai (sport climbing), and Ervin Shrestha (swimming).

For the 20th Asian Games 2026, the scholarship recipients include Tilak Pun Magar (archery), Chandra Bahadur Thapa (boxing), Erika Gurung and Sanumaya Thing (karate), and Sushmita Tamang (wushu).
Rashmi Tamang has been selected to receive a scholarship for the Dakar Youth Olympic Games 2026.
Athletes selected for the Asian Games and the Youth Olympic Games will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 50,000, according to the NOC.
