Nepal defeated Oman by 81 runs in the 102nd match of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 held in Kirtipur on Tuesday.
Nepal bowled out Oman for 175 runs while the latter was chasing the 257-run target.
To prevent the opponent from reaching the target, Gulsan Jha took the highest 5 wickets giving away 38 runs while Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee took 1 wicket each for Nepal.
Vinayak Shukla's 36-run score was the highest for Oman. Shukla made 3 fours and 2 sixes off 41 balls followed by Hammad Mirza with 34 runs. Similarly, Hasnain UI Wahab and Hassnain Shah scored 29 and 14 runs, respectively. Jatinder Singh and Nadeem Khan took 12 runs each while Wasim Ali contributed 10 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve any significant runs.
Earlier, electing to bat first after losing the toss at TU International Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday, Nepal notched up 256 runs losing all wickets in 49.5 overs.
Aasif Sheikh took the highest 94 runs including 7 fours and 5 sixes off 97 deliveries. Similarly, Arjun Kumal made 48 runs while Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee and Gulsan Jha contributed 43, 33 and 17 runs, respectively.
In reply, Nadeem Khan took the highest 3 wickets followed by Shakeel Ahmed and Hassnain Shah with 2 wickets while Jiten Ramanandi grabbed 1 wicket for Oman.
The next match will be held between Nepal and Scotland in Kirtipur on May 12
