Govt not to distribute medals on Constitution Day

The government has decided not to distribute medals, decorations and titles this year.

The government had been distributing such medals on the Constitution Day, annually.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday took a decision to this effect after the decorations distributed by the government courted controversies.

The government decided to form a panel to devise a proper mechanism for the distribution of titles next year, said a minister.

 “The medals and titles distributed by the government have courted controversies,” the minister told Nepalkhabar, “Hence, it has been decided not to distribute such titles this time. The cabinet has decided to form a proper mechanism to systematize the distribution of such medals and titles for the next year.
