Advance ticket booking for Dashain has opened starting today -- a week before the beginning of the greatest festival.
Tickets are available at the old fare for Dashain this year, according to the transport entrepreneurs.
Transport entrepreneurs in a meeting held at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport last Friday, agreed to open ticket bookings from today.
With the opening of advance ticket booking, a long line of people has been formed at Gongabu Bus Park in Kathmandu since Monday morning. Passengers have complained about not getting tickets even after standing in line for hours.
According to past statistics, around 2 million passengers leave the Kathmandu Valley during Dashain.
In previous years, advance booking of tickets for long and medium route public vehicles was opened a month before the start of Dashain.
