A Nepal Airlines flight carrying 253 Nepali passengers from Israel has landed in Kathmandu.
Nepal Airlines A330 flight reached Israel via Dubai. The plane carrying stranded Nepalis landed in Kathmandu from Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel's capital, Tel Aviv.
On last Saturday (October 7), 10 Nepali students were killed, four sustained injuries, two remained unharmed and one went missing when the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked some places including Kibbutz Alumin in southern Israel.
A total of 49 students had gone to Israel under the 'learn-and earn' program from Sudurpaschim University on September 12 and 13.
Foreign Minister NP Saud also went to Israel on the same airbus to rescue the Nepalis.
There are 265 Nepali students currently studying in Israel and about 4,500 Nepalis are working as care-givers, according to the statistics maintained by the Ministry.
Out of 265 students, 199 people went from Agriculture and Forestry University, 97 from Tribhuvan University, and 49 from Sudurpaschim University.
Of these, 17 out of 49 Nepali who went from Sudurpaschim University were studying at Kibbutz Alumim in southern Israel.
The delay in bringing the bodies is said to be due to the legal process of handing over the bodies of those killed in the attack when the Israeli government has declared war.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the bodies of all the deceased are safe under the protection of the Israeli government. They will be brought to Nepal once the legal processes are completed.
