Nepali Congress has organized a tea reception and greetings exchange program on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar, Chhath and other festivals at the central party office in Sanepa on Saturday.
According to Krishna Prasad Paudel, chief secretary of the central party office, more than 10,000 people including chiefs of political parties, ministers, lawmakers, chiefs and representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal and as well as distinguished individuals from various walks of life in the society attended the event.
The NC has been organizing this festival reception annually on Kojagrat Purnima, the last day of the Dashain festival, since the year 2034 BS.
This tradition was initiated in 2034 BS in honor of NC's founding member, BP Koirala, who returned home on Push 16, 2033 BS (December 30, 1976) with a policy of national unity and reconciliation, following his exile in India.
