A tremor was felt in Sindhupalchowk in the wee hours of Friday.

According to the National Seismological Center, Lainchaur, a 4.2-magnitude quake struck at 1:28 am with its epicenter at Helambu.

Senior Seismologist Dr. Lokbijaya Adhikari at the center told Nepalkhabar that it was an aftershock of the Gorkha earthquake that devastated Nepal on April 25 in 2015.

Tremors have been felt in the surrounding districts including Dhading, Tanahun, Chitwan, and Makwanpur.

Thousands of aftershocks have struck following the Gorkha earthquake.
