Three children have drowned in a pond in Dhanauji Rural Municipality-5 of Dhanusha district.
Three teenage girls drowned in the course of bathing in a public pond in Dhanauji Rural Municipality-5, Bahuarwa on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as 11-year-old Muskan Khatun, the daughter of Abdul Khan, Jitan Khatun, 12, the daughter of Hilim Khan and Ajmeri Khatun, 11, the daughter of Kalim Khan, said the District Police Office, Dhanusha.
Critically injured Muskan breathed her last while being rushed to Provincial Hospital, Janakpur while Jitan and Ajmeri passed away in the course of treatment at the same hospital, said the police.
The police said they are carrying out further investigation into the incident.
