The death toll in the Marsyangdi River bus accident has climbed to 27 after seven more people were confirmed dead.
According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, Anbukhairahani Hospital confirmed 23 people dead.
Three other dead bodies are being taken to Anbukhairahani Hospital from the accident site. Their bodies were found trapped beneath the crashed bus.
Sadana Suhas, 16, an injured, who was referred to Old Medical College, Bharatpur in Chitwan from Anbukhairahani breathed her last at 3:26 pm. With this the number of death toll has reached 27.
The remaining 16 people were airlifted to TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. They are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A total of 43 people were traveling in the ill-fated bus.
According to the details provided by Majheri Resort where they stayed for two nights, there were 43 people including driver and co-driver.
They had arrived two days ago in Pokhara from Gorakhpur of India. After a two-night stopover in Pokhara, they were heading to Kathmandu on Friday morning. They had received an eight-day border pass when they entered into Nepal, according to the police.
