The lawmakers of the opposition parties have disrupted the meeting of the House of Representatives even today, demanding the resignation of the Home Minister.
The lawmakers of main opposition CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) stood up from their seats and obstructed House meeting stating that Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak should tender his resignation after he courted controversy over the visa scandal.
The opposition lawmakers also disrupted the House meeting on Tuesday. Speaker Devraj Ghimire had held talks with the chief whips of the political parties yesterday and today.
No sooner had Speaker Ghimire announced the start of the House meeting than the opposition lawmakers stood up from their seats and started disrupting the House meeting.
The meeting had started two hours later than the time scheduled.
Speaker Ghimire had offered lawmakers time to express their views representing the political party but the opposition lawmakers flatly rejected it.
The lawmakers also turned down the Speaker's proposal allowing Home Minister Lekhak to put forth his views in the meeting.
After the lawmakers continued disrupting the proceedings, Speaker Ghimire adjourned the House meeting for 30 minutes without entering into today's agendas.
