Main opposition CPN (UML) has finalized candidates for the by-elections to be held in Chitwan-2 and Tanahun-1.
According to Prithvi Subba Gurung, deputy general secretary of the UML, a secretariat meeting held at the central party office today decided to field Sarbendra Khanal in Tanahun-1 and Ram Prasad Neupane in Chitwan-2.
"Sarbendra Khanal will be field in Tanahun-1 and Ram Prasad Neupane in Chitwan-2," Gurung said emerging from the meeting.
The candidate for Bara-2 has not been decided, said Gurung.
Ruling alliance has decided to field Govinda Bhattarai from Nepali Congress in Tanahun-1 and Rastriya Swatantra Party has decided to field Economist Dr Swarnim Wagle in this constituency.
Similarly, NC is fielding Jit Narayan Shrestha in Chitwan-2 and Rabi Lamichane is being fielded in this constituency by RSP.
The by-electiions are set to be held on April 27.
