The bodies of Indian citizens killed in the Marsyangdi River bus accident in Anbukhairahani, Tanahu this morning are being taken to Pokhara for postmortem.
Tanahun Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam told Nepalkhabar that the bodies will be handed over to their kin after conducting postmortems at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences.
The bodies are being sent to Pokhara as there is no sufficient manpower to carry out postmortem at Anbukhairahai Hospital, said CDO Gautam.
“There are a few doctors at this hospital. The postmortem for so many bodies is not possible by this manpower. Hence, bodies are being taken to Pokhara,” he said.
He informed that all the bodies will be taken to Pokhara by this evening.
Among 27 dead, 26 bodies have been kept at Anbukhairahani Hospital. One person died in the course of treatment at Old Medical College in Chitwan.
District Police Office, Chitwan is coordinating with the District Administration Office, Tanahu for postmortem of this body.
The decision regarding the postmortem of this body will be taken in coordination with the DAO, Tanahun, Chitwan SP Bhabesh Rimal told Nepalkhabar.
