Lamichhane, who was whisked to Pokhara following his arrest in Kathmandu on Friday, was taken to the Kaski District Court this afternoon for the extension of his remand.

A team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Friday arrested former Home Minister Lamichhane from the central party office, Banasthali for his alleged involvement in the misuse of the funds from Suryadarshan Cooperative.

Preparations are being made to lodge a case against Lamichhae on three charges of misappropriation of financial co-operative funds, organized crime and money laundering, according to Office spokesperson Basant Kumar Sharma.
