Those involved in the 100 kg gold smuggling case have started landing in the police net. The team assigned by the Department of Revenue Investigation has started arresting those involved in this case since Thursday.
The team assigned by the department has arrested 10 people including Chinese and Indian citizens involved in this case till Thursday (June 4) evening.
They were arrested by a Department of Revenue Investigation team from different places in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The court on Thursday extended the investigation deadline against six of those arrested. Four others have been arrested as of Thursday evening.
All those arrested have been kept in the Department of Revenue Investigation.
According to the director general of the Department of Revenue Investigation, Nawa Raj Dhungana, the search for the persons involved in the case is ongoing.
Those arrested in the gold smuggling case on Thursday are:
1) Zeqiang Lin (Chinese Citizen)
2) Thipten Chhiring (Indian citizen of Tibetan origin)
3) Ramkumar Bhujel (Dolakha)
4) Dilip Bhujel (Dolakha)
5) Harkraj Rai (Bhojpur)
6) Ashok Lama (Taxi driver)
7) Rajan Shrestha (address not disclosed, arrested from Koteshwar)
8) Krishna Shrestha (address not disclosed, arrested from Koteshwar)
9) Pushkar Raj Bhatta (Owner of Trans Global Services)
10) Rajendra Rai (Customs Agent)
